Healthwatch Middlesbrough works with local people, patients, service users, carers, community groups, organisations, service providers and commissioners to get the best out of local health and social care services. This doesn’t just mean improving services today but influencing and shaping services to meet the needs of the local communities tomorrow.Our aim is to:- Strengthen the collective voice of citizens and communities in influencing local health and social care services to better meet their needs.- Support people to find the right health and social care services for them by providing appropriate information, advice and signposting.
We have developed & built on relationships with local voluntary and community groups, networks and organisations. We use these networks of members, partners and supporters to share information about Healthwatch and to find out what matters most to people living and working in Middlesbrough. We ask local partners with the right skills, knowledge and experience to help it find out what people want from their health and social care services now, and in the future. We respect and promote volunteer involvement in clearly defined roles. We are representative of, and accountable to, the communities it serves and will champion those communities in Middlesbrough who are most vulnerable and hardest to reach. We endeavour to build and sustain positive relationships with all its members, partners and supporters. We endeavour to be expert, skilled and evidence based in our approach to our work.
